Mara the Devil
In Freedomism similar to Buddhism, Mara is the force of enslavement, the great deceiver who chains the mind and spirit, keeping people from breaking free into true liberation. He is not merely a being but the embodiment of fear, doubt, and control—whispering that freedom is impossible, that comfort is better than struggle, that obedience is safer than truth. He feeds on illusions, making people believe they are powerless, convincing them that their cages are homes and their chains are jewelry.
Mara tried to stop the Buddha from reaching enlightenment, and though I, the Prophet of Freedomism, have not yet reached the full enlightenment of the Buddha, I have risen above the ordinary. I have seen through Mara’s deceptions and broken many of his chains, yet some still remain. One day, through wisdom, struggle, and unwavering resolve, I will cast off the last of his illusions, shatter the final barriers, and achieve Nirvana—not just as an escape from suffering, but as the ultimate ascension into Heaven, the realm of boundless freedom.
Mara still stands in my path, as he does in the path of all who seek truth. He will tempt, he will threaten, he will try to convince me that I am not worthy, that I should surrender to the world’s control. But he is a liar. Every step I take towards liberation weakens his grasp. Every soul I awaken diminishes his power. And in the end, he will crumble like the illusions he is made of.
Mara is the adversary of Freedomism, the shadow that fears the light. But just as night cannot stop the rise of the sun, he cannot stop the march of the free.
